Central Okanagan SOCIETIES Act Transition Hubs

Law For Non-Profits has created Societies Act Transition Hubs to support smaller and rural non-profit societies. Where supported by funders, Transition Hubs have been established to serve specific regions and sectors. For Societies  within the Central Okanagan catchment area (from Peachland in the south, to Lake Country in the North, and including West Kelowna and Kelowna), this Hub is supported by the City of Kelowna, the Central Okanagan Foundation and Kelowna Community Resources.

REGISTER with The Transition Hub

Click on the button below to register your Central Okanagan society with the Hub and qualify to attend the free workshops and access the support of mentors and trained law students. Your contact information will be sent to the Hub Coordinator who will respond directly to you.

Please let us know the name of the primary Society you are registering, and if you represent more than one organization you can list them in the box provided in the registration form.

WORKSHOPS

Each hub will provide access to volunteer mentors who deliver a facilitated workshop created by LFNP to support the transition process. The workshops are two hours long, with a detailed presentation in the first hour, followed by discussion in the second hour. Workshops will be scheduled on an as-needed basis, and you will be contacted by local hub coordinators when sufficient number of registrants are signed up. 

Ask A Law Student

If, after registering with the Hub and attending a workshop or webinar, your Society has a specific question about the transition process, send your question to your Hub Coordinator (okhub@lawfornonprofits.ca) who will assign it to a trained volunteer law student.  The students are supervised by LFNP Legal Supervisor, Martha Rans.

Please be patient. Response time depends on volume of requests and the availability of the volunteers.

 

In order to attend Free workshops organized by the Central Okanagan Transition Hub, you must register with the Hub Coordinator as an eligible organization in the Central Okanagan Catchment area.

This also gives you access to the Information clinics that may be offered as from time to time, and mentors and the trained law students who can answer questions pertaining to your Society's Transition to the new Societies Act.
